Speech and Swallowing
A speech-language pathologist evaluates and provides treatment for problems with speech, voice, language, cognition, and swallowing. The main goals are to improve a person’s ability to communicate effectively, improve communication in social interactions and increase the safety of a person’s swallowing skills. A certified Speech-Language Pathologist (CC-SLP) must have a graduate degree in the field and meet criteria set by the Council for Clinical Competence.
